On the 100-word challenge: Prefer

This post was inspired by Velvet Verbosity’s 100 Word Challenge – this week’s prompt is prefer.

I used to weave words together on my old blog and they wouldn’t make much sense, lacking most punctuation and capitalization, but it was directly scooped from my brain and that is the way I prefer all writing. It probably made the five readers I had roll their eyes, half whistling, stretching it out:

“Craaaaay-zeeee”.

I don’t write like that anymore.

I’ve learned to over-use commas and big letters via punctuated, frustrated jabs to Shift Keys. So, my words appear more thoughtful. Even deliberated over. Am I choosing narration over letting the voices out?

No.

I’ve just got pills, now.

    I loved this.
  • Thank you. I think it's a great exercise!
  • huzzah for pills! are tums pills? sure, huzzah!
  • Okay, so is 'huzzah' like, an agreeing word, then?
  • Weave is a good word for you, a rich tapestry of 'you' in every thing you write. I like the twist at the end of this one too.
  • I love that word. It always seems so versatile.

Ha! Love that little twist at the end. AND, I love the new digs. Holy smokes it's fancy around here. I'm itching for a blog upgrade in 2010.
  • This is just a stop-over on the way to the look I really want!
