Don’t give up on your dreams because you only have some vague concept of what they are. Do whatever it takes to get clear! Let your passion lead the way and persevere. Living your purpose, your passion, is the true joy of life. Shaw said: It is my privilege to do for it, Whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die."

I can identify. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up (or at least grow older).

there's no shame in having passions like this. so why not share it with your psychiatrist? he's not your father. he won't shoot down your dreams... in fact his job is to do the opposite and encourage healthy behaviour.
if this is a serious dream that you'd like to accomplish, he can help you find solutions to make it a reality.

my friend from my self employment program does this for a living. she's a home stager/interior designer/professional organizer. she loves her job and works for herself. actually she lives in your neighbourhood, working mostly downtown. the market is super saturated for this in vancouver right now, but if you're really good and can make a name for yourself, or have a real niche in the market (eg. my friend lived in italy staging castles and estate homes for 2 years, so she specializes in the european style)you can definitely do well in this line of work. and never underestimate how far focused passion can get you.
