Children eventually, like water, find their own level. Right now she’s pushing boundaries. This is one of those ‘pick your battles’ times. So the question you have to answer is – “Is this the battle where I choose to stand my ground”? If not, she’ll eventually get tired and fall asleep om her own. If so, then there have to be unavoidable consequences. If you say something, you have to stick to it. “No TV tomorrow” means exactly that – even in the face of tantrums and everything she will throw at you – because at some point – she needs to understand that there needs to be a clear chain of command – until she is old enough to make her own decisions.

That is one serious thinker right there. Good gosh is she deep for her age..(referring to the picture here). I used to put music on for Skye (Bach or a long opera) and those lights that dance on the ceiling. She would sit there for awhile watching them and fade out. (Hugs)Indigo

That sounds ridiculously intense . . . I don’t have kids of my own and so this is going to sound stupid (even worse that it’s from a tv show) but on Supernanny (oh goodness, I’m cringing already) she advises that when your child first gets up you tell them it’s bedtime, and then put them back in bed.

Any time they get up after that you put them back into bed without saying anything – that way you can’t encourage any behaviour that might stall bedtime for a few more minutes. Eventually they learn that bedtime isn’t negotiable.

Or something. I don’t know if it works or not, feel free to ignore me completely.

I do hope bedtime gets easier for you guys, though!
