A love letter

I’ve got so many people in my life that I’m thankful for. Some I’ve met on here (hi!), some on the street, some go way back – but in honour of Thanksgiving, I figured that a least a one-liner might give an indication as you how much I love you all.

  • You make me feel as if I’m important, that if I wanted to be, I could sit at your dinner table every night. We’ve hashed, talked, commiserated so much that it’s made me feel integral. It like I consider you family, really.
  • You’ve made me feel smart, sexy, funny and most of all, loved from a distance. Internet friendships tend to be fast, furious and then over, but I truly feel as if you’ll be a part of my everyday life for awhile.
  • Thank you for making me feel as if my words and advice are worthy of your consideration. You’ve made amazing changes and strides and it’s inspired me, even though I was a person that you were consulting, along the way.
  • You’ve made me feel everything in the entire spectrum of feelings. Most heady is the feeling that you tend to, quite easily, be intoxicated by me – getting sucked back, time and again. Most important was the day when I woke up and didn’t want to exude a spell over you anymore, to feel your love.
  • You are an empowering force in my life. You’ve never let me doubt myself in the time that we’ve gotten close – you’re constantly in my corner and telling me that what seems impossible is right there at my fingertips.
  • You. You’re constant. I love you constantly, regardless of time and space. I’ve respected you for what seems like forever and to me, you will never seem imperfect.
  • We’ve grown so much closer over the past six months, I can barely remember what it was like to not talk to you daily – for you to not know every single thing about my ordinary existence. You’re there. And what’s better, you’re there because you want to be.
  • You make me want to be better at every moment of every day. Even on the days when I just want to lie in bed and stare at a wall, you inspire me to pick up my feet and pretend and get silly. Just to make you smile.
  • What I love most about you is that things, words, criticisms, come right from the heart. You’re like an interpreter of people’s souls, though I think you need to erase your shame for being that speaker.
  • You’ve made me feel wise, compassionate and accepted. But the best feeling is the one I’ve gotten when you just seemed to appreciate me, like, I wasn’t damaging your life in any way.

And maybe, given my recent self-improvement ideals, I should one-line it about myself, too.

  • Self? You’re changing so fast, in so many big, positive ways. Life is picking up for you and the biggest part of that is that the definition of success and health is changing – always revolving into something new and better, now. You’re finally growing up, not just getting older and harder.

  • I love posts like these. I was going to steal the idea but had a change of heart and decided to do something different.

Thanks for being my friend. Thanks for putting up with me when I'm whining about my ridiculous coworker. Thanks for putting up with me when I'm singing non-sensical songs about boobs and the Beatles. Thanks for putting up with me when I'm being mushy and leaving loving comments on your blog, too. I'm glad the intarwebz brought us together.

Second, I know I am not Canadian and that is is not quite Thanksgiving for me, but girl, I am so dang thankful to have you in my life. You came into my life when I was in search of clarity, support, advice, knowledge and strength. So, to add to that I am thankful for the internet and Plurk!

  • I am not surprised that you have this love in your life. I think you are an outstanding person. You know that I admire your writing, but the more I get to know you, I admire you as a woman, as well. Thank you for taking the time to try and see me clearly too. I will always appreciate that.

You're more than welcome to sit at my dinner table every night - can you clean the crap off it while you're there?
We shouldn't need to make you feel feel smart, sexy, funny and loved - you are, no doubt about it.
    You're amazing girl!
