My oldest has a stuffed dog also. Poor thing is so worn out around the neck from her carrying it all damn day. If we lost that thing we'd be in trouble. I tend to make her leave it at home though. I won't let her travel with it. If she insists, then I always make her leave it in the car. My fear is not only that she'll lose it, but also I fear having to deal with her tantrums if another kid tries to play with it or take it from her.
