Friday Night Lights

- I picked the title of this post purely for SEO reasoning.
- I baked banana bread. Cept prior to baking, realized I was without a loafpan. After some msn-conferring, discovered that it baked up nicer in an 8″ square pan than it would loafy-like.
- I put applesauce in everything I bake, instead of sugar. Normally, this negatively affects the leavening, yet today, we’re gravy. I think it’s cuz I also substituted butter for shortening. And that whole pan thing.
- For dinner tonight I made the executive decision that we’d have an almost entirely veggie meal. This is to combat the snack foods that we basically live off of all week long. Isobel is apparently the CEO, I’m a lowly board member. Was Not Impressed.
- Even with the dip(s!)
- JDawg made it four straight days. Yay him! He came down yesterday to see her, after guaranteeing that he was in a good head space for it. He was exhausted (drinking is his sedative, without it and coupled with withdrawal, he’s an insomniac) yet still had more energy for Isobel than I’ve seen in a very long time.
- He thanked me, for being the bad guy, willing to take everything away from him and risk losing money and friendship, so he’d wake up. It was an aw, shucks kinda moment, cuz he appreciated me.
- Then he announced his plan to only drink on Saturday nights. I remember that plan. Two years ago.
- Did you know? I’m planning on quitting smoking on Valentine’s Day. Figure it will suck anyways, might as well pick that one day. Seems that I’ve got six days left of smoking. Will progressively decrease ciggies per day.
- If I succeed? Next month, as my reward, I will repierce my labret.
- Also, now that gaining sizes is working in my jean’s favour, cutting back on the junk food binges every night is coming into the priorities. More baking to come because of this, me thinks.
- Today’s phrase was “…gay. And by gay, I mean happy.”
