cuz it's not all doom and gloom*

  • i decided to keep the jeans and figured out that they’re not exactly the ones i linked before. these have a little wrapover button and are a bit wide-legged and a size 1, so two sizes too big but don’t make my ass look like stupid-non-existant-ass and i’ve already gotten four unsolicited compliments on them. i maybe possibly look like i’m trying to rock the chick-urban look, minus stupid shoes and patterned hoodies.
  • people who never talk dirty, when they do, even when it’s not that dirty, it’s a compliment. especially when they usually never talk at all.
  • hallowe’en candy is both the devil and heaven sent and i love every little two-bite morsel of it.
  • i finally got my slow-cooker and made a pot roast last night. potatoes: succulent, the roast, falling apart it was so tender. i love cooking things slowly.
  • i also love the lack of dishes.
  • after some creative moving around/powerbar usage, i moved my microwave ontop of my fridge, giving me 45% more counter space and a better sense of cleanliness in my kitchen.
  • not only did i make a pot roast last night, but today i made two lasagnas. one for the freezer and one for tomorrow’s dinner. plus there was extra meat sauce, so there’s another night’s dinner, done.
  • i reorganized all my craft stuff and z’s living room toys and books and stuff into their own little areas of the living room – thus giving me the ability to pack up the play-yard (aka storage space) and freeing up another like 80 square feet of zoë spinning room.
  • while it’s a hassle that she’s learned to climb everything just when i’d gotten comfie with her having alone time for a few minutes in the living room, i do love that she figured it out on her third attempt. go monkey, girl!
  • i am considering moving back to the suburbs that i grew up in, just so i can pay the same rent and get twice the everything. oh, in-suite laundry and a dishwasher, how much i would love you. you would save my sanity (as much as it can be saved)!
  • as much as teething is my nemisis, it does get me THATmuchCLOSER to not having to cut everything into bite-sized pieces.
  • i’m thinking, since tonight is NIGHT OFF FOR TERRA (from the usual gogogogogogoGO), that i should do this more often. sure, i don’t “get out” but i should reserve one night a week to do absolutely nothing important after she goes to bed. it will be vegging sunday, i think.
  • add to this that as of tomorrow, i will awaken at 6am daily and go to bed somewhere around 10pm. then, i should start getting more sleep, which will give me more psychological stamina and energy. and i’ll be able to take a bath first thing in the am, have some coffee without an ankle-circling toddler, make breakfast and get some work done before she even wakes up.
  • someone commented on my other site, and said i look like kate moss. i deleted the comment in part because they’re obviously an idiot. but it’s the thought that counts. just cuz we have the same measurements, height and weight does not give me her bee-stung blowjob lips that i so covet.
  • i only have like three loads of laundry to do right this very moment. after tomorrow, it will only like like, one and a half.
  • just to emphasize: i don’t have to make dinner for the next two days!
  • i am nearly done the airmail pressie and then will move onto some toss cushions for stargirl. unfortunately, i need to buy some more yarn for the airmail pressie. stupid double crochet taking up more yarn. stupid.
  • unintentionally, i’ve regressed to a pack of smokes lasting me more than two days. this is amazing and i think entirely in owing to stress-time management issues and the fact that when you buy the shittiest, cheapest smokes you can, that’s exactly how they taste.

* aka always look on the bright side of life.

thanks, nat. any recipes you wanna pass my way, give em up! i am clueless and so accustomed to just throwing shit into a pot and cooking it until it's done. i don't know how to do it slowly....:P

slow cookers are magical. there's nothing better than coming home from a long rainy day and having your dinner totally ready and smelling up your house. it was one of the best purchases ever.
my slow cooker favs are pork chops & mushroom sauce and baked beans with turkey sausage. but roasts with potatoes and veggies are also delightful. i recomend using a leek with your veggies. they mellow to such a lovely flavour.
wow, i maybe need a new hobby, lol.
