i have just eaten pizza

this is the first thing i managed today besides a bit of zoë’s (dinner-time) french toast and a few goldfishes that she had before bedtime. sometimes she’s good at sharing like that.

today was massively productive day – one of the ones where i am easily convinced that zoë and me and housework and work and extracurriculars and reading can all co-exist.

sitting in a shoe box

it started off with a doctor’s appointment, where she’s been set up for a glucose test – or i can just go back with her in a month to see if she’s lost more weight. so yeah she’s apparently too happy to be diabetic or have sugar probs. but just in case, she’s young enough to not have to “really worry right away” about it. tell that to her kidneys.

then i asked if it was normal for a kid to be as violent as she is some times. and he said, “well, when they’re going through the twos…” and i exasperatedly said that she’s 14 months!!! and he said that she’s maturing ahead of other kids and that it’s likely frustrating her. HUMPH.

frustrating her. i never bite, kick, headbutt or smack her! SHE doesn’t have to wear concealer right now to hide the black eye that her toddler gave her!

i have my own appointment tomorrow, so we’ll get to expand upon the head shaking i was bestowed with today. i’m assuming it’s about my weight. whatevs.

then we got back and she went for her nap all easy like, like someone else’s child. matter of fact, bedtime and naps have been easy like for the past few days and i don’t want to take it for granted ONE LITTLE BIT. and it was two hours of working for mommy.

then up and a snack/lunch while she allowed mommy to do ALL of the past two days’ dishes (that’s like, 10 sippy cups and four bottles, at least). THEN she entertained herself so that i had time to make muffins and cook some carrots behind the comfort of the baby gate.

OH i never told you about last week when i was baking chicken and she was enthralled with the oven element’s light and so tried to hug it with her entire body. my oven is circa the 70s – the kind that causes you to turn down your thermostat cuz it gives off so much heat? so i’m slow-moing NOOOOOOOOOO and she gets close, touches with her finger tips for a split second and then lets out an unimpressed THIS IS TOO WARM whine. so we bought a baby gate 45 minutes later.

back to my day cuz i know you care.

we went for walkies after that – i was going to buy the world at safeway cuz it is all on sale and ME? i travel with coupons! but alas, i bought everything i needed and even some fancy soup and stew ingredients, then also got her some of this disgusting extreme green fruit/veggie smoothie organic crap that is like CRACK for her. that shite cost $5 so almost caused me a heart attack but still, i forgot bananas and only spent like $35. the goal was $50 cuz i had a save $5 coupon but NO i am too smart a shopper. and i even bought her a new book too. the most annoying book in the world, that has a button to push where this little electric kid says BYE BYE. stab my eardrums now!

so we came home and she had one of my marvelous blueberry muffins while i got her dinner ready – avocado, those cooked baby carrots and french toast.i had a wack of bread left that is nearing it’s expiration date, so i made a ton and gave some to my friend for her son cuz he is a pancake/french toast FIEND.

then we watch one of the movies that we borrowed from the library (we got 7 and a book) and mellowed with a bottle and some gold fish. then her nan/daddy called and it was talkies time. which means she yell-babbles into the backside of the phone, and then pushes random buttons until she hangs up.

i am listening to this and feeling all groovy, even though i’ve smoked nothing stronger than tobacco.
