and i’ve rarely, if ever, made a new year’s resolution (because generally, they’re rules people make up for themselves and don’t stick to…case in point: new signups at gyms go through the roof in january, while february and march tend to have the lowest attendance rates), i figure, what the heck, i’ll go CRAZY and come up with 27 of them. here we gooooo (not in any particular order):
- read the 7 habits of effective families and live by the 7 habits
- come close to maximizing mine and/or dr. daddy’s rrsp contributions so as to minimize taxes payable and have the beginnings of a “nest egg”, though we’ll likely never buy
- open and invest in (and have gov’t subsidize) a registered education savings plan for zoë. not a lot. but some.
- save 10% of all of our income, using part of it for #2 and part for a high-interest savings account, for those, like, rainy days – therefore start watching starbucks and dvd rental expenses
- eat more fruits and vegetables
- partially wean, to the point of 2 daily feedings, morning and bed time, then wean further when zoë’s ready – though i’m sad after weaning 2 of zoë’s feedings already
- read more books with zoë
- limited my OCD rules to my own actions, not others’
- have more patience with dr. daddy, even when stressed, tired, annoyed, hungry, depressed, broke, nic-ing out, unshowered, etc.
- allow dr. daddy to be the dad he wants to be, 100%, keeping my “suggestions” to myself until asked
- become a more empathic listener, meaning listen, not advise
- start going to the gym, once infrequently breastfeeding
- build up client-base, to stay at home for work
- if working from home, take zoë to playtime at the local rec centre
- have more sex
- gain more muscle
- write daily, about something, anything
- read and comment more frequently on the blogs i love
- consider quitting smoking
- consider revegetarianizing myself
- assume the best, regardless of track record, especially with family and friends
- learn to knit
- nourish fancy nancy’s wish for self-employment and discontinuation of retail
- learn to count to 15 in a foreign language and employ that in times of #s 8-11, 19 & 21
- consider school, even distance learning
- learn something new everyday
- bake. cook. clean. feed the creative girly girl in me
what do you wanna do in 2007?
