advise me, wise ones

okay, email me to give me advice…

we’re getting to the 3-month mark, as so as to save our sanity and get her to spend more time eating and sleeping than screaming and whining and crying, we’ve created the following bad habits, which we could use all the advice in the world to break:

  • she sleeps in bed with us
  • she sleeps in bed with us only after eating until the point of near-combustion
  • she sleeps in bed with us generally only when we are in the bed (we get out, she wakes up)
  • she sleeps also, in the snugli or occassionally in the stroller
  • she also sleeps on us
  • she sleeps on us after listening to water running and being bounced or rocked for some amount of time between 10 and 90 minues
  • she does not sleep in her crib or anywhere a normal baby might consider sleeping
  • she does not want to take part in independent things, like playing for more than 7 minutes alone
  • she generally does not want to be put down if she is not playing for 7 minutes alone or when one of us plays with/for her
  • we are her favorite toys
  • we usually hold the rest of her favorite toys and cater to her playing whims
  • we love her toooooo much to ferberize her or use the sears method, so those are out
  • we hate the sound of her crying, not for the nerve jarring reasons you’d assume, but because it breaks our hearts that she is feeling…something not accompanied by this smile
