i’ll write about more than baby stuff and mommy stuff and sleep deprivation and nipples. but for now:
- she only sleeps on one of us during the day.
- if we put her in her crib, it’s for moments – maybe 10 minutes, if we’re lucky, before she wants out and to be cradled against one of our chests.
- she used to sleep in her car seat, in her stroller, so going for walks was an instant nap. now, she’s discovered that if she cries (or wails) then we’ll pick her up out of the car seat and carry her around.
- because of all of this carrying, she needs a hat that will protect her from the sun – do you think that they make sun hats small enough for an 8lb. 2 month old?
- the answer is no.
- so, soon, i will be making a brimmed hat for her.
- she now only sleeps with us at night time, for 10-50 minute stretches.
- she spends the rest of her time latching onto my breast.
- i wake up about 15 times a night to her latching on.
- therefore, i sleep in 5-30 minute stretches and
- my breasts become engorged after 2 hours, when she’s sleeping on one of us, during the day.
