don’t worry guys, i won’t just disappear when it’s time to welcome the tummy monkey into the world. i’ll letcha’ll know, seriously.
it’s been a busy week. the doctor was on vacation from the glass hospital; they shut it down every summer for a week of maintenance. it’s been nice to get to spend some quiet time together, before we cease having anything resembling a quiet household. and we got a lot of stuff accomplished – like about 10 loads of laundry that i haven’t been able to carry down to our laundry room by myself, watching my ankles swell and more than half of the crocheting project i’m working on.

on monday, we moved all of the furniture in our (fairly tiny-ass) apartment around so that we don’t have to dodge strollers and chairs in a crazy-maze-path. it’s a little more open looking, a lot more negotiable and now, the computer lives next to the stereo – i like to call this area electric avenue, since we have everything that needs electricity within a 100 s/f space.
on tuesday, we went with fancy nancy to the airport to meet secret asian man, the doctor’s brother. he’s been studying mandarin in china and korea for the last year and has now returned to vancouver so he can complete the final year of his bachelor’s. after this he plans on moving back to asia to complete his master’s. by that time, he’ll be fluent in english, french, mandarin, korean and japanese. what an overachiever, eh?

on wednesday, we rested. i think cuz god said to or something.
on thursday, i had to say good bye to one of my closest friends. we go way back, to 1995. we went to college together, as well, but after a couple of years, she transferred to a university in montreal and we started only getting to see each other during the summers. after finishing her degree, she moved back here for a year, but found the school districts unwelcoming (her degree was in education) and so moved back to montreal, again. she quickly found a position at a private school and is currently considering a master’s. another achiever. i know, i’m surrounded by them.

it’s always so exciting when she comes home for a visit and the saddest day to see her leave. we usually cry. we didn’t in front of each other this time, but five minutes later, the flood gates were opened.
friday was more resting. cuz of god and cuz we’re lazy fuckers, like that.
saturday was walking around the west end with the doctor and secret asian man. he’s forgotten a lot of vancouver, and we hit the seawall at english bay, got some food and watched a movie. relaxation, family-style. he passed out for a bit after dinner – back on vancouver time, my ass – and then woke up and headed back to fancy nancy’s.

now it’s sunday and we’re resting. god said to – it’s in the bible.
