cat scratch fever

i am in the midst of a blanket making fever. not only am i working on the baby’s blanket, not fully knowing when it will be needed, but i am also working on a blanket for part of a girlfriend and her fiancee’s wedding present for august – they already know about it since i checked with them about colours, so don’t worry about me letting that slip out.

the baby’s blanket, due to a lack of stockpiling and then a further lack of stock at Zellers and the fact that the only Lewiscraft (yarn superworld) that i knew of has closed, is becoming a possibly future ugo affair. maybe ugo is too strong a euphamism, but it will not all be as pretty and regularized as former pictures would indicate. i’m totally winging it. this could turn out very badly.

the friends’ blanket is moving along nicely and while i know that i have not enough supplies, i also know that what i need to go back and get will be in store – so no hodgepdoging. and if there’s not enough stock in, i have a back up plan. it’s coming together perfectly and it will be a great cuddling blanket for the newlyweds – provided my fever lasts to finish prior to labour/the wedding.

on a different note, my cat has since last night, picked up on the doctor’s coolness and, doing his bidding, has now attacked me in psycho-flying-ninja-cat style 3 times. twice was my ankles, which she can get her whole face around, almost. she draws blood and immediately runs away, knowing she’s been a “BAD jadey!”

this has got to stop cuz i will drop her if she pulls that shit towards the baby. anyone have suggestions? trust me, she’s not just playing, nor am i teasing her and getting my comeuppance.

Avery's mom has the right advice -- Also, there are these net thingies you can put over the crib, so the cat can't leap in. Looks a bit dumb, but works.

Ninja cAt? She'll settel down when the baby is out. she's probably picking up that things are changing in the family and acting excited. once the baby is here, just keep an eye on the two of them. My cats (3) all kept their distance and knew to stay out of the baby's nursery space. Dont let the cat get comfy with the crib or else theres going to be competition once your little squirt arrives.

When my mom was pregnant, our dog at the time cornered my mom by the toilet when she started to go into labor....animals have a sixth sense...maybe jade is picking up on your contractions and gonna let you know when its time! Look out..she might be on your head as you're heading to the door in full labor!
